Yesterday a less active that we had been teaching was having a hard time. He has a kid about 2 years old and his girlfriend wants to take her to Louisiana with her but he won't have. I thought he was kind of a burn out but his whole entire life is based around his baby and i was very impressed by that. He does everything for his kid hopefully we can get him coming back to church but he asked me to give him a blessing at this hard time in his life and so i did. I must say wow! The power you feel when you are working for the lord in that aspect is amazing. You can feel the spirit burning within you as you say the words that just come. I didn't think about what to say i just said it and everyone was either close to tears or crying. It was one of the top most spiritual experiences of my life for sure. I have had so many opportunities to give blessings and every time I get nervous and worry but then it all works out. I must say i have learned to trust in the Lord that He will guide me in everything I do. My trainer is making me do everything this transfer and although that is really annoying sometimes I am grateful because I am learning so much more than just tagging along.
We taught Jared this last Sunday and it was really good, he asked questions and I honestly think that he wants to know whether or not its true and the best part is that he wants to know for himself. It was great we taught him about the gospel of Jesus Christ! Our other investigator Tim is or was a smoking, unorganized spaz but now I have seen the gospel change him. He listens and responds like a normal person, he quit smoking and he is legit! He is having his family members fly in to witness his baptism! I know we will have 2 baptisms this April for sure!!
Everything is going great out here and i am having a blast I had crawfish for the first time and it was pretty good but that is all we had and its normally a side to the main meal but the best part is when you suck out the brains! We are having a great time out here and everything is going great. I am glad that i get to be out here doing the lords work and i will have more stories for you next week when i have more time :)
I must say that this is what i am supposed to be doing and that I am here for a reason! I know that all the littler things are annoying to here about but that is truly what it takes to stay in tune with the Lord and His Spirit. Prayer is a powerfull thing we can ask your maker for help, guidance, and comfort. If you own father can get you a great gift on this earth imagine the gift the your perfect Father in Heaven is waiting to give you if you just ask. I have had so many of my prayers answered. Just Pray :)
I don't think I have any really crazy stories right now about anything but I will be sure to let ya'll know if i get some :)
Trust in the Lord!

About Me
- Josh Blomquist
- Hello! My name is Josh and I am going to see if I can use this old blog of mine as a type of journal. I have a lot going on in my life and think I should document some of it. That way I can save these experiences for myself and my children.

Love the work and The Lord
Me and my companion just got a call saying that we were the doing better than any of the other companionship in our zone and we just started our area out! Petal hasn't had much missionary success for a long time but me and Eldredge are not only succeeding but doing better then everyone else in our zone! We are grateful for this and know that we are very blessed with this success. We have 2 investigators with a baptismal date in mid-april and are looking for a third later this next week. We already have 2 or 3 very good potential investigators too. Oh and we don't count proselyting hours anymore just so you old timers now :) Jared and Tim are the two that will be baptized and they are for sure i think.
Transfers are this Tuesday and me and eldredge are staying in Petal for the next month and a half unless something crazy happens. I know that our ward is relieved to have us, they tell us all the time that we broke the dry spell of lame missionaries. Haha The ward loves us and wants us to stay because we are not weird missionaries and we are actually working! I gave a talk yesterday on repentance and Eldredge did his on the Atonement I feel they went very well. Everyone came and told us we did amazing but that could be just because we are missionaries but its nice to hear anyways. To be honest the success we are having is really got nothing to do with us or our efforts because we could be working harder but everything seems to be falling into place. I must say we have been very blessed!
The weather is getting hotter its been 80 and higher all week but not humid at all so far, so its not too bad.....yet..... I am not looking forward to this summer i am trying to get mentally prepared but i don't think i can prepare myself. So far everything has been going great and we are having success here in Mississippi.
I would like to tell ya'll about the power of prayer. It seems like everything i have prayed for i have gotten an answer to. Me and Eldredge prayed together to find a family to teach and literally 2 days later a recent convert moved out here from California to live with her daughter and her family. She called us and we are now teaching that family!!
Thank ya'll for your prayers! I would love to hear from ya'll you an send me letters or packages whenever you would like :)

Missippi, Jackson Mission
I am in Petal, Mississippi and I am loving it! Its already kind of hot so summer should be interesting ;) I love the people out here they are so nice and layed back its great! Although almost all of them are baptist and have already been "saved" its hard to teach people who think they are already done. Here if you say outloud I accept Jesus as my saviour" Then alright you good to go to heaven!! Everyone already goes to chruch every sunday and they are all very religious people. The sad thing is that about half of the members in the ward dno't want to drive 20 min. to the church in Hattiesburg when they can just walk around the cornere to the next baptist church. So we are doing a lot of reactivation here and its difficult. Even the people who are investigating the church you can't help but think once they are baptized they will just fall back into going to some baptist church down the road rather then driving. On the bright side the members that do go to church are awesome! they are all looking for missionary opprotunities and trying to fellowship the people who are less active! I have never seen and probably will never see again a ward that helps the missionaries out this much!
We have 3 great people investigating right now and 1 that is okay haha that one guy is his own bird thats for sure. The other three are pretty much headed in the right direction and one of them is a garunteed baptism. The southern food is great but i haven't had to much of it but the stuff I have had is amazing! I just hope i don't gain 50 pounds in the enxt 3 months because its all fried!! They certainly don't let you go home hungry down here if your not sick because you ate too much then you have to eat more!! Seriously if you don't get seconds they complain about you being a light weight! haha so i just make sure i get small plates now and just eat 2 or 3 of those then its all good. Then we always get sent home with the rest of the dessert which is ridiculous! I can see how gaining weight down here would be a problem if yuo didn't work out. Luckilu my companion is a polynesian version of me so we work out together everynight to try and work off all the grease we eat at dinner!
I don't really have any really good stories yet but I will be sure to update them on here as soon as I get a good one! Well i will update yall later!
Quote from Miss Ruby "He was as crazy as a road lizard!"
Quote from The South "You can say anything you want about somebody as long as you say bless his/her heart at the end." Example: "He really isn't the most thoughtfull person i have ever met but bless his heart he tries though"
Southern Talk example "I maybe coulda written some more for yall but my companion is being annoying right now. Bless his heart."
Haha I love the way people are down here its just a great place to serve your mission even if it does baptize a small amount of people you meet some great ones anyways!
Yall have a good day now!
